Experienced maritime professional with 20+ years in agency services, chartering, ship operations, and marine insurance claims handling. Since 2021, acting as Claims Coordinator at DIAS Marine Consulting – the regional partner for major International Group P&I Clubs – with direct responsibility for handling crew, cargo, pollution, and vessel arrest claims across Ukrainian ports. Gained intensive field experience in wartime conditions, ensuring timely support and risk mitigation for shipowners and insurers under extreme circumstances.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinating P&I claims related to:

  • Crew (injuries, illness, repatriation)

  • Cargo damage/loss

  • Pollution

  • Fines and vessel detentions

  • Collisions

Direct communication with P&I Clubs including:
American Club, The Standard Club, West of England, Britannia, UK P&I, Steamship Mutual, Skuld, Gard, Shipowners' Club, etc.

  • Liaising with shipowners, agents, consulates, port and immigration authorities

  • Organizing repatriation, medical treatment, payments, and documentation collection

  • Preparing official notifications and reports for the Clubs

  • On-site attendance, incident investigation, survey coordination, and evidence collection

Repatriation of abandoned crew after mine explosion (2022)
Worked with the Club to arrange overdue wage payments and repatriation of the crew from a damaged vessel, abandoned by the owners, lacking provision, fresh water supply and valid visas. Coordinated with Consulates, ITF, voyage providers, immigration authorities, agents. Result: Crew safely returned home.

Emergency evacuation during military invasion (2022)
Coordinated land evacuation of an ill Greek seafarer in the first days of the war. Result: Seafarer exited Ukraine safely despite closed airports and disrupted routes.

Blocked ships and cargo claims during port closure (2022–2023)
Liaised with crews, owners, agents, and clubs; provided situation reports and claim support.
Result: Ensured transparent communication, timely repatriation, and claim follow-up under blockade conditions.

Complex cargo claims (caking, combustion, contamination) (2022–2023)
Supervised surveys, lab analysis, and reporting. Handled claims communication and calculations.

Missile strike claims – crew and vessel (2022–2023)
Collected primary documentation, photos/videos, and supported claim filing.
Result: Claims accepted, partial emergency payments arranged, balance paid after assessment.
