History of DIAS Marine Consulting
Founding and Early Vision

Founded in 1995 by Igor Cherezov, DIAS Marine Consulting was built upon more than 15 years of his prior maritime experience. A graduate of Odessa State Maritime University in Maritime Transport Management, Igor began his career in the Russian Far East as a port dispatcher before advancing to head the Agency and Survey Departments of one of Ukraine’s leading maritime companies.

Maritime Research and Professional Leadership

Alongside his operational work, Igor contributed to maritime research as a Research Engineer at the Black Sea Marine Research Institute, publishing in International Shipping and Lloyd’s List. He also served as editor and publisher of the Black Sea Review, offering informed perspectives on maritime business and policy developments.

In 1997, Igor obtained a Certificate in P&I Insurance from South Tyneside College, UK, and was elected President of the Ukrainian Association of Maritime Surveyors and Consultants. His technical expertise, leadership, and professional engagement positioned DIAS Marine Consulting as a trusted partner for P&I Clubs and classification societies worldwide.
